Her Story
From Earth Altar
to AriCléa
Justine Almaraz is the owner and founder of AriCléa. Her previous studio was Earth Altar Tattoo Studio. It is deeply important to her to offer a warm, safe, inclusive, and inviting place that helps clients transform physically and spiritually.
This work is personal. When Justine's mother was healing from breast cancer, Justine was able to use her skills to help her feel beautiful and confident in her skin again. Her mother, a registered nurse, became a partner in this journey, and together they pursued training in cosmetic and medical tattooing.
That experience is woven into everything Justine does. This is not just a service. It is a calling that runs through her family, and she brings that depth of care to every single client she has the honor to serve.
In 2026, that foundation became AriCléa. A new name for a deeper truth. Not just a tattoo studio, not a tattoo school, not just a sterile medical office, and not just an art gallery. A living house of creative transformation, with five distinct pillars, each one a doorway into a different dimension of what it means to live artfully and fully.

Resonance Sound Ceremony Tattooing
Where sound and ink converge. Each ceremony is a ritual of presence, held in sacred space, guided by live sound healing and freehand tattooing. The body becomes a canvas for transformation, and the experience becomes the art.
Restorative Medical Tattooing

Justine Almaraz
Justine Almaraz is the visionary behind AriCléa, a Southern California-based medical tattoo artist, fine artist, and educator whose work sits at the rare intersection of clinical precision and sacred artistry. Known for her deep commitment to healing, inclusivity, and transformative results for every skin tone,
Justine has become one of the most sought-after specialists in the country for clients who have been turned away elsewhere. Her signature approach combines 17 years of fine art tattoo mastery with advanced paramedical tattoo technique, delivering 3D areola restoration, scar camouflage, and artistic healing solutions that go far beyond what traditional paramedical tattooing can offer.
A true artist at her core, Justine brings a painter's eye and a healer's hands to every session. Where conventional paramedical tattooing reaches its limits, particularly for clients with dark skin, hyperpigmentation, and complex scarring,
Justine's fine art background opens a new door entirely, transforming what cannot be camouflaged into something intentional, beautiful, and deeply personal. Her clients travel from across the country for this work, and for good reason: there is simply no one else doing it quite like this.
Her practice is rooted in the philosophy that the body is sacred, that healing is ceremonial, and that every client deserves to leave feeling more whole than when they arrived. Each session is held with intention, privacy, and profound respect for the journey that brought that person to her table.
As an educator, Justine trains the next generation of tattoo artists through online courses, mentorships, and a coveted apprenticeship program, with a particular focus on dark skin competency and the creative problem-solving skills that the industry has long been missing.

She is an Emotional Strategy Coach, Reiki Master, Sound Therapist, Yoga and Meditation Guide, and Multi-Dimensional human. Whether you need guidance on your emotional health or want support balancing your energy and regulating your nervous system, Kathryn is poised to help. With expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Life Coaching, Reiki, Yoga and Meditation with an emphasis in Sound Therapy, Kathryn fuses psychology with ancient yogic practices and meditation to help you learn to regulate your nervous system and connect to yourself on a deeper level, uncovering patterns about yourself that you want to change and providing a space to practice acknowledgment and acceptance. At AriCléa, Kathryn holds the sonic container for every Resonance Sound Ceremony Tattooing session, weaving live sound healing, crystal bowls, and intentional frequency into the tattooing experience. Her presence transforms what could be a simple appointment into a ritual of deep presence and personal meaning.
